Tia Maria @ Strawberry Fare Restaurant

Today, an earlier celebration for Liying's and Ben's birthday was held and we went to a restaurant located at 114 Peterborough St, Christchurch. This restaurant as recommended by SiewPing, is indeed a special restaurant which offers a wide range of mouth-watering desserts and great wines plus some nice meals.

The photo below is what choon seng and I ordered. It's called White Chocolate Fantasy - (creamy mousse in a chocolate biscuit tower with poached tamarillos). A great dessert with nice white chocolate contained inside the biscuit tower. The price of this dessert is $15.00 and we share together.

The drink I ordered was a liqueur spirit called Tia Maria. The taste was very similar to a coffee liqueur. I think the ingredients are coffee beans, vanilla and alcohol of course and the alcohol content would be about 20% or more. It's indeed nice. I ordered a double shot only (about 30ml). However, drinking alcohol in this "hot" restaurant was not a good idea but it's great when it's accompanied by the beautifully decorated dessert with chocolate and tamarillos. Red Tamarillo is so special that it is a traditional Kiwi food icon. A bit sweet and it's redder than the strawberry.
